Healthy Food Guide X – So Will Be Separated:

In the Hay’s food combining rules, the individual products will be classified in the protein foods group, the carbohydrate foods group, the neutral foods group and the products that should be avoided if possible.
The food in the protein group may not be consumed with the foods in the carbohydrate group within a meal. Both groups, however, can and should be mixed with the products of the neutral group.
In addition, protein and carbohydrate meals are eaten at certain times of day because the body, according to the ideas of Dr Hay, will not use carbohydrates and proteins at any time of day equally well. Until midday, therefore, carbohydrate and protein meals can be eaten, in the afternoon and evening Dr. Hay recommended only carbohydrate meals, because protein would strain the body too much. Everyone should try out for himself, when and what it best for him or her. For professionals, the daily schedule might look different, because the lunches often are missed, or small and the family has a larger dinner together, which contains protein products (meat, fish, eggs, etc.). The ideas in our schedule are therefore only guidelines and recommendations from Dr. Hay, everyone should find their own living and dining for themselves and adjust their life accordingly.

1. Example:
A dish of meat (protein group) with plenty of vegetables or salad (neutral foods group).
The meal will then belong to the protein dishes and is recommended for lunch. There are no additional side dishes, therefore no bread or rice, no pasta, potatoes or Knödel.
2. Example:
A potato or Pasta gratin (carbohydrate foods group) with plenty of vegetables or a salad (neutral group).
The entire meal is considered to be part of the carbohydrate group and will be recommended for lunch or dinner. For this purpose, there is no meat, no bacon, no sausage, no whole eggs, no milk and no cheese with fat level of 50% and below.
3. Example:
A vegetable meal or a salad plate with Quarkdip (all neutral foods group).
This meal is neutral and is recommended for lunch. You can add a little meat, fish, ham, eggs or cheese (with fat level of 50% and below), then you have a protein meal. Add bread, potatoes, etc. to it will be a carbohydrate meal.
4. Example: The menu
For a menu of several courses, you should select the menu according to the food combining rules. If lunch is to be a carbohydrate meal, the individual entries should be of the carbohydrate foods group or the neutral foods group. If the lunch is to be a protein lunch, such as meat or fish , the starter and dessert should be from the protein group too, or at least from the neutral group. The sfood eparation also applies to the drinks.
